Wasp Control in London

During the summer months, wasps can become a common problem in homes and public spaces across London. Wasps like to build nests inside of wall cavities, lofts, and garages. Leaving a wasp nest untreated means that the wasps may multiply and the problem may worsen.

Facts About Wasps

Is it important to treat wasps?

Although most wasp stings are painful, they cause no long term harm for the majority of people. Unfortunately, there are a number of people who are allergic to wasp stings, and wasp nests pose a huge risk for these individuals. Leaving a wasp nest untreated may mean that the wasps multiply and the nest may get bigger. Even though wasps die off during the winter months, leaving a nest untreated means the wasps might return to the nest the following spring/summer.

Where Do Wasps Build Nests?

Wasps tend to build nests in sheltered spots that have easy access to the outdoors.

This may include:

  • Wall cavities

  • Lofts and roof spaces

  • Garages

How Long do Wasps Live?

Generally, worker wasps only live between 12-22 days, and a queen can live up to a year. Leaving a wasp nest untreated to 'die out' over the winter months means that the queen might survive. The queen has the potential to live until the next year, meaning that the wasps can repopulate the nest during the following spring/summer.
